Editorial policy

CertNorth exists because most project-management certification advice is written by the people selling the courses. We are not a training provider, so our verdicts are honest: we tell you who a certification is not for, not just who it is for.

Every number is sourced and dated. Exam fees, eligibility rules, and renewal requirements come straight from the certifying bodies — PMI, Scrum.org, the Scrum Alliance — and we name the source and the date we last verified it. Salary figures come from official labour-market data (such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), with the exact source linked. We never invent a number, and when official data doesn't exist for a country, we say so.

These figures change. Certifying bodies adjust prices and rules; PMI raised exam fees in 2026, for example. We re-verify the volatile numbers on a regular schedule and update the guide — we do not leave stale figures online, and we never bump a date without actually revising the content.

On money: CertNorth currently earns nothing. We use no affiliate links, and we have no commercial relationship with any certification body or training provider. We may add affiliate links in future, and if we do we will say so here and on any page that carries them — before it appears anywhere else on the site. A commission will never change a ranking or a verdict: when we say skip something, it stays "skip it" whether or not there is money attached.
